The Memorial area is a very long, narrow expanse of residential subdivisions and business districts in west Houston between Highway 6 and the 610 west loop along I-10, north of Buffalo Bayou. Memorial is one of Houston’s wealthiest areas and includes properties in five zip codes, over 30 subdivisions. Memorial offers magnificent custom homes for sale near the top of Houston‘s real estate market, excellent community amenities, and quick, easy access to Downtown, the Galleria, Uptown, and Energy Corridor. Residents are mostly zoned within Spring Branch ISD schools, but some communities further west toward Beltway 8 are zoned to Katy ISD campuses– none of Memorial attends HISD schools. Memorial residences have the opulence of high-class living in large, luxurious estates situated on expansive lots of sprawling green lawns. As Memorial has maintained and its tranquil image and is noted for the privacy it offers, many prominent business leaders, celebrities, and other members of Houston’s high society have sought houses within Memorial. Near I-10 and Beltway 8 are three of Memorial’s main hubs: CityCentre, Memorial City and Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. To the east of the area is the park bearing the area’s name Memorial Park which is quite popular among residents. Memorial’s diverse real estate offerings include single family luxury homes in more exclusive neighborhoods such as Stablewood, Tanglewood, Piney Point Village or Bayou Woods with a median appraisals of over $1,000,000 to upwards of $10,000,000 while more moderate pricing can be seen in neighborhoods like Memorial Bend, Memorial Forest, Memorial Hollow or Memorial Forest from the 250s–400s price point.
